Cats in need of a good home

Homing afternoons are held regularly at Coombe Down every 3 to 4 weeks when the public can come and see the cats who need new homes. Details can be found on this site and they are also advertised in the local press.

Every effort is made to find the right home for the right cat. Once a cat is chosen we then arrange to do a "home check", once this is completed, your new pet may be collected to start a new life. Though we would very much like to be able to cover a much wider area, unfortunately, practical considerations mean we can normally only realistically consider re-homing cats within a reasonable traveling distance of our base in mid-sussex except in special circumstances.

All cats are spayed or neutered (unless only kittens), fully vaccinated (again according to age), de-flea’d, wormed and microchipped.

We make every effort to keep this page up to date but some of these cats may have gone to new homes by the time you read this.

We have a number of older cats who are being overlooked in favour of the younger ones. They have been abandoned for no fault of their own and are longing for a quiet home with someone to love them. Fudge, Jasmine and Smudge are just 3 of the lovely older cats who have come to our Rescue Centre this year. Jasmine and Smudge have happily been rehomed but Fudge would love to go to a new home of his own.

Ebony   Lucy Lucy, age 11, domestic short hair, black and white and her twin sister Ebony, age 11, domestic medium hair, black. Very attached to each other and looking for a quiet home together.

Whisky   Spike WHISKY age 4, domestic short hair, ginger, male. SPIKE age 4, domestic long hair, tabby, male, handsome and good natured. We are looking for a home for them together and they would be very suitable for a family home with children.

Bea		Murray
Age 12, domestic short hair, tabby, female. Her elderly owner had to go into a nursing home. She is an affectionate cat.		Age about 5, domestic short hair, ginger and white, male. He is good natured but will need a quiet home to gain confidence.
Lola		Tiggy
Age 8 months, domestic short hair, tortoiseshell. A gentle and sweet natured girl.		Age to be confirmed, domestic short hair, tabby, male.  He is very friendly and looking for a home where he would be the only cat.
Ivy		Minnie
Details pending.		Age 5, domestic medium hair, blue/cream/white. She needs a quiet home where she would be the only cat.
Katie		Cindy
Age 10, ragdoll, female. Came to us following her owner's death, Good natured and enjoys being groomed. She needs a quiet home, without young children, where she would be the only cat.		Age 12, domestic short hair, black and white, female. Sweet natured and needs a quiet home.
Dizzy		Ziggy
DIZZY age 2 and a half, domestic short hair, black and her daughter ZIGGY age 18 months, domestic short hair, tabby & white. They get on well with children and other cats, we are looking to home them together.
Pepsi		Shadow
PEPSI female and SHADOW male. Both aged about 8, domestic long hair, black. They could be homed separately and are quite suitable for a home with children.
Gypsy
Age 8, domestic short hair, black and white, female. She is friendly but not used to children or dogs and so should be the only cat. She had to be given up by owner who had health problems.
Ollie		Carmen
OLLIE & CARMEN, Age 12, black, brother and sister. We are looking for a home, without children or dogs, where they can be together.
Fudge		Poppy
FUDGE, age 11, male, domestic medium hair, tabby and POPPY, age 11, female, domestic medium hair, black. Their owner had to reluctantly give them up. They are a quiet, gentle pair and would be fine with older children. We are looking for a home for them where they can be together.

Older Cats Section   Fudge   Tiger Age 16, domestic short hair, tortoiseshell. Sadly her owner had to be admitted to hospital and can no longer look after her. A lovely girl but a bit shy, she doesn't like being picked up but enjoys a good stroke. She currently lives in the Pavilion though she would love a new home.   Age 16, female, domestic short hair, tabby. Came to live with us in the Pavilion after her owner died. She is a lovely cat, very affectionate and would really appreciate a new home.   Jasmine   Betty Age 14, female, ginger. More suited to a home where she would be the only cat.   Age 20, domestic short hair tabby. Had to be given up by her owner as the children developed an allergy.     Chloe     Age 15, domestic short hair, ginger and white, female. A quiet and friendly cat who likes people, suitable for a home without children where she would be the only cat.
