Grace is 11 and came to us in 2010 for rehoming following her owner's death. Sadly she was repeatedly overlooked by everyone coming to choose a cat. She is a lovely girl and even though she was happy and comfortable in her pen she was understandably getting bored and we appealed for an outside home where she could be well cared for, have company when she wanted it but still have the freedom to roam. Then it occurred to us that we knew a place like that - Coombe Down!
With the sadness of losing Benny, our "roamer" we didn't think of it immediately so it was with great joy that we opened her pen door to our grounds and watched her run free. What a time she is having, exploring the undergrowth in our paddock, climbing trees, climbing on the roofs, rolling in the long grass and on the sun-warmed paths. She loves to sunbathe on the top of her large dog kennel or sleep in her favourite place, on top of the compost heap!
Grace comes to the utility room each morning for her breakfast and later on for her tea. In the colder weather she doesn't sleep in her kennel but in a cosy bed in the warmth of the utility room, and is a much loved member of the Paws & Claws family.
