Looking to adopt a Cat?
-
We are a small charity covering Mid-Sussex
Though we would very much like to be able to cover a much wider area, unfortunately, practical considerations mean we can normally only realistically consider re-homing cats within a reasonable travelling distance of our base except in special circumstances.
-
Have a look at our HOMING PAGE
We update this page regularly with details of our cats that are available for adoption. Please bear in mind that, however hard we try to keep the page up to date, some may have been re-homed by the time you see it.
-
Call in and see us on one of regular Homing afternoons
We hold regular Homing afternoons at Coombe Down, normally every 3 to 4 weeks, when you are welcome to call and see the cats who need new homes. You can find the next date on the Homing page and it is also advertised in the local press. On a Homing afternoon it is not necessary to make an appointment before visiting.
-
Meet the cats
Every effort is made to find the right home for the right cat and when you visit, our experienced helpers can advise which cats in our care would be suitable for your particular home environment. They will be pleased to answer any queries you may have.
-
Home check
Once you choose a cat we then arrange to do a "home check". This is so we may advise you on any particular problems or concerns. We also take this opportunity to run through some of the many things that need to be considered with a new cat in the home. Once the "home check" is complete, you may collect your pet to start a new life.
-
We do request a donation
All cats are spayed or neutered (unless only kittens), fully vaccinated (again according to age), de-flea’d, wormed and microchipped. As you can appreciate this is quite expensive and we do ask you to make a contribution when you collect your new pet.
Please note that viewing cats for re-homing is
strictly by appointment
except on homing afternoons
For any queries concerning homing please email us or contact Jackie on 01444 241538, EVENINGS ONLY please.
