A prestigious event for book lovers

Paws & Claws Book Fairs are a magnet for enthusiasts from all over southern England. There are normally over 40 stalls selling thousands of interesting rare and collectable books covering a wide range of subjects. Many of the stall holders are themselves enthusiasts who only sell at this event.

A wide range of rare and collectable books

Whatever your subject from local history to military and naval tomes, children's books, art books and fiction there is sure to be something of interest. Prices vary widely and you may well pick up a bargain if you're lucky.

Children's books are always well represented and you will find many treasures from yesteryear such as the "Eagle Annual" and the Jennings series. There are also old leaflets and postcards for sale and often a book-binding expert or an autograph expert are present.

Location

The Book Fairs are held in the historic county town of Lewes which has a long literary heritage and there are many antiquarian book shops hidden away in the town. The Town Hall is almost the centre of the town and only a few minutes walk from the mainline railway station.

Our Book Fairs are now normally held five times a year (an increase from four in 2008) at Lewes Town Hall. Open to the public from 10am to 4pm. Refreshments are available and held in regard. Admission 50p.
