Best wishes for a happy Easter

*** Cancelled Events ***

As you may be aware none of the events we had planned for this year have so far taken place.

We are very much hoping that the Book Fair planned for 17th October will be taking place but a final decision will be taken closer to the date.

Please check here for updates.

If you had been planning to attend our AGM, our accounts for 2019 are available on request.

*** Rescue Centre closed ***

Our Rescue Centre is closed to visitors until further notice.

Please do not telephone with homing queries as we do not have staff available to deal with them.

For all enquiries concerning adopting a cat please telephone Val on 01444 457758 and leave a message if she is not available.

COVID-19 Update

During this Coronavirus crisis, times are hard for all of us and we would like to offer our sincere thanks to those of you who have kindly donated to our small charity at this difficult time.

Unfortunately, but inevitably, fundraising events are being cancelled, and along with other charities, this will have a huge impact on Paws & Claws as this is a major source of income to run our Rescue Centre.

Obviously, we are closed to the public for now but each day our dedicated staff continue to look after the cats in our care, many of whom have come to us in need of veterinary care before they can be rehomed.

If you would like to make a donation towards our work, we would be most grateful. See our donations page.

The two cats pictured are among those you have helped to support. Whilst finding new homes is our mission, there are others who for age, temperament or medical reasons are permanent residents. They live in our Pavilion which is purpose built with comfort, space and freedom paramount, and with a safe garden alongside for them to enjoy as well. This is their home and they are very much part of the Paws & Claws family.

O'Malley (left) is a quiet, shy boy aged 15 who has lived happily in with us for seven years. He especially loves the warm weather and spending time in the garden. Last year 14-year-old Spartacus joined us. There were a number of health issues we needed to sort out but this lovely boy soon settled happily into Pavilion life. Temperamentally he is much like O'Malley and they have become good friends, spending much of their time together.

We are Paws & Claws Animal Rescue Service a small cat rescue charity, founded in 1977 covering the Mid Sussex area. We have many lovely cats looking for adoption who would love a new home.

We hold many fundraising events during the year and attend many others throughout the Sussex area.

Life in the Pavilion

For those, who don't know, the Pavilion is our special facility for long-term resident cats - those that are not easily rehomed.

We try and find suitable homes for all the cats that pass into our care but sometimes it just isn't possible.

However many cats have left the Pavilion to go to new homes, it has just taken a little time for the right person to come forward.

In the meantime they can live out their lives with us, receiving all the care and attention they need, so long as they have good quality of life, in our vet's opinion.

You learn about our resident cats here.

You can help support the Pavilion by becoming a Sponsor or by making a one-off donation below.
